What it does
- Search every field of every contact in a
.vcffile, case-insensitively, with match counts. - Clean Outlook Junk removes Microsoft- and Exchange-specific fields, Outlook links and read-only notes, and keeps Apple address-book fields by default.
- Remove Photos strips embedded contact pictures, which are often most of the size of a large export.
- Remove Lines With Term deletes matching values, but never touches names or phone numbers.
- Dry run and undo — preview a change before applying it, and step back through several.
Your original stays put
Instead of
Saving over the file you opened. Save proposes a new, timestamped file name and refuses to write over the original. Choose some other existing file instead, and a backup copy of it is saved first.
Status, stated plainly
An early utility written in Python with wxPython and used on macOS; Windows and Linux are untested. It is licensed under Apache 2.0 and has no version number yet. Actions apply straight away rather than asking for confirmation, so use the dry run or undo. A contact that cannot be written back is currently skipped without a warning, so compare contact counts before replacing an address book with the result.
